What a great post. I think that is why I love thanksgiving so much too, the only expectation is a turkey dinner and family time. My husband and I are striving to make Christmas more like that too. Only gifts that are gifts of time are allowed. We take care of our relationships and the environment.

I LOVE Padmanadi! The curried "mutton" and black moss soup are my favorites. Plus the owner is the sweetest, warmest man!

Thanks Sheryl for your thoughts - it's an interesting distinction between inner and outer peace. How are they related to each other? I'd be curious to hear other people's thoughts.

How can I bring more peace into my world? Good question...I do keep peace in my environment by keeping my home quiet when at all possible (no TV, radio etc.) and keep my environment uncluttered. Inner peace can be somewhat more difficult. What I am working on currently is to express myself clearly and in the moment so the coulda, woulda, shoulda and what if thoughts are less frequent. I am also working on remembering WHO I am and letting things go that don't align with me. Lastly, aging seems to be helping as well. The older I get the more peace I feel within myself.

I hum the song "Happy Xmas (War is Over) to focus on peaceful thoughts. It's been over 40 years since John Lennon and Yoko Ono announced "War is over (if you want it)". Instant Karma's gonna get you.

As one of your experts and as an image consultant, this blog sings with me! A makeover doesn't mean you need to be made over; as though there's something that needs to be fixed. It is more about redifining and refreshing your image on the outside to reflect the person you've become on the inside. I call this "authenticity". I have been known to offer real solutions to real women! and that brand followed me long before Real Fabulous Women came to be! What Carma!

I've never minded cleaning the toilets. Because I'm actually "disinfecting" them, the fact that they are "dirty" to begin with isn't a problem. Toilets are one of the few places that actually shine when clean.
Let's make a deal: I'll clean ALL the toilets in return for dusting, vacuuming AND cleaning the kitchen!

Ha! This one made me laugh. :)

I love to vacuum. I feel like those peaceful monks making those sand drawings. I know it won't matter 10 minutes after my kids trash the front room with fish cracker crumbs. But for a brief shining moment it looks so manicured. So under control.

Least favourite? Anything in which I have to touch a toilet.

We should start a barter system. I'll come over and vacuum if you clean my kitchen!

Great post.

Great post. For some reason, I've been really bothered by the outbreak of women in Hollywood I've really admired getting "work" done. These women are gorgeous by just about any standard out there and now they look like the Joker. I just find it really disturbing.

You thoughts though have made me think (again!). Maybe they are more real because they have chosen to take control of their bodies (faces) and resist aging. They have a level of pressure few of us can understand. As my girlfriend often says, your self esteem gets a lot different when your face is up on a 50 foot screen. I guess the reason we often chat about appearances of Hollywood people is that we don't know anything else about them. All we usually get is what we can see.

Thanks for the post.
